How Our Anti-Torque Rings (ATR) Work

During the assembly of high-purity gas and fluid delivery systems, conventional Face Seal-style fittings often experience rotary-action transfer, rotating the nut and the gland/gasket, leading to fitting failures. This is typically caused by the female nut losing its coating and inducing stainless-to-stainless contact, leading to many problems. Hy-Tech’s Anti-Torque Rings reduce or eliminate rotary action, preventing fitting malfunctions while elevating system performance. Our Anti-Torque Rings are cost-effective, safe, and easy to install.

Reduces or Eliminates Rotary Action

The low coefficient of friction helps eliminate rotary action transfer during assembly, preventing fitting bead damage caused by over-tightening and remakes.

Additionally, Hy-Tech Anti-Torque Rings prevent damage which requires the disassembly and reassembly of the fittings, saving time while reducing labor costs.

Interchangeable Sizes

Fits 1/4”, 3/8” (4-ATR-X-40), and 1/2” (8-ATR-X-40) fittings.

Versatility

Our Anti-Torque Rings can be used with assembled or disassembled male and female nuts.

Proprietary Coatings & Quality Materials

Our proprietary coating is extremely thin (.0001 – .0003 inches), ensuring the ring will not loosen the connection during fire or burnout. Our coating provides various additional benefits, including:

  • Low friction
  • High-temperature tolerance (effective up to 650 degrees Fahrenheit)
  • Non-stick properties

Additionally, we utilize a 300 series stainless steel substrate, which is .005 inches thick with flexible properties for easy assembly.

Case Study/Technical Notes

For ¼” and ½” Fittings

Fact: When assembling Face Seal-style fittings, torque can be transferred to other parts like the gland and gasket.
